Hush the Rush

I went for a walk in the snow recently and noticed how much it nourished me.

I gave credit to the fresh air—to the beauty of the trees and the pink, winter sky.

Later (when I thought about it), I realized the walk felt so restorative because it was unhurried and easy.

There wasn't a plan or agenda. I wandered. I looked at Christmas decorations in the neighbourhood. I took my time.

In a season marked by a heightened sense of urgency, mindlessness is good medicine.

Busy minds—FULL minds—tend to create a lot of anxiety and NOISE.

If you're finding yourself caught up in the chaotic, jostled energy of the holidays—or running in six different directions in an attempt to check off all the boxes . . .

Take a moment to HUSH the RUSH!

Time may seem to be moving at lightning speed, but you can still slow everything down INSIDE OF YOU.

  • Inhale for a count of four.

  • HOLD for a count of two.

  • Exhale for a count of seven.

The 4/2/7 breath will help you insert your OWN pace into this hectic time of year.

Choose peace over performance, dear friend, and I'll do the same.

Let's connect to our breath and make a conscious decision to pause and be present.

Together, let's hush the rush.

Sending you so much love,
