Happy New-Years-Eve Day!
We’re almost in January and that can spark a lot of anxiety and pressure.
After taking some time off for the Holidays (is that ever restful?) the mind often decides it needs to start cracking the whip so you don’t fall too far behind.
There's just so much TO DO in January!
You’ve got to:
start eating better
get serious about meditating
You know how this goes.
The list is endless, dearest. And while it’s good to get clear about what matters most to you, and which activities will help you create a year that’s aligned with your highest self, here’s a word of warning:
Beware the January GOAL RUSH!
You’ll recognize this state of mind by the fear-driven sense of URGENCY that takes over your nervous system.
Suddenly, you find yourself trying to stake a claim in the new year in ways that feel off-kilter and stressful.
Unconscious goal-setting based in SCARCITY (there’s not enough time, I’m already behind!) will only create more scarcity—not peace and wellbeing.
Eckhart Tolle talks about “awakened doing” which puts the focus on HOW you do things vs. WHAT you do.
Are you rushing? Grasping? Trying to keep up with the influencers?
That’s goal rush fever.
Trust me, you don’t want to create from that place.
Rushing and efforting to check off all the boxes or achieve high-pressure goals, always comes at a personal cost.
True success comes out of presence and flow. It comes out of acceptance, enjoyment, and enthusiasm.
Your state of CONSCIOUSNESS determines what kind of year you’re going to have.
So, allow January to settle a bit before you jump into DOING.
Let inspiration arise within you from a quiet place of connection.
Instead of the goal-rush, choose guidance.
That’s how you’ll have a really good year.
Sending you so much love,
